Wipocalypse for February

It's a darn good thing this is leap year.  I barely made my post this month.  Eek.  So just a quick update.  Until just the last week I have had some health issues that made sitting up and stitching uncomfortable.  So a little stitching and more knitting was accomplished.  I was also stitching on a couple of commissioned pieces of WiseWoman which are not on the Wipocalypse.

But, I did some work done on Snapperbets:

For knitting projects, I finished a Cambria Shawl:

And, I'm almost done with a Hillflowers, just 9.5 repeats and a join and this one will be done:

Onward into March!!!

The Lists

I only have two resolutions for 2012.  One is to floss (very successful so far on this one) and the other was to cut back on unnecessary lists.  I'm doing well on that one too.  But some lists just need to be made.  As you know from previous posts, I have cherry picked my WIPs for the 2012 Wipocalyspe.  These are the projects I most want to finish this year. But in the name of complete disclosure and also so I don't forget, I have decided to list all WIPs, kitted projects and partially kitted projects, stitching, knitting and quilting.

2.  Hanging Gardens of Semiramis - Chatelaine Designs
3.  Acorn Hill - Little House Needleworks
4.  Work of Christmas - My Big Toe

Complete Kits - Got it all, just no stitching.  Just a note, I am including all my HAED as complete kits since I have DMC out the wazoo and over a yard of appropriate fabric.

I'm Baaaaack!

Okay, so in a senior moment, I actually forgot I had a blog... It just seems that I have been so busy but if you asked me what I have been doing, I don't think I could tell you. However, Susan told me I needed to update my blog and she is so right. Thank you, Susan. (you know which one you are)

I have my DH taking pictures of the projects I have been working on and I will post those later but I thought I would just update a little.

A really enthusiastic group of stitchers of all types have been working diligently to get our local chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America up and running. The local chapter here in San Angelo, Tx has finally be approved and we are full fledged member of the EGA. We are called the Concho Pearl chapter, named after a special gem found only in a certain mollusk in the Concho river. It's kinda purpley-pinky and it is really pretty.

My sister in law, as some of you know, is in a nursing care facility with early onset dementia from Frontal Temporal Atrophy. She just had her 60th birthday. We recently moved her to a more specialized facility with an Alzheimer's unit. She is so much happier there. It is quieter than the regular nursing home she was at before and all the patients have similar issues so the staff can really focus on their needs. It was interesting to see the piece on CBS Sunday Morning last Sunday about the rise in Alzheimers and dementia related diseases, especially early onset. I had no idea how prevalent this was until it happened to us.

I am a recent Weight Watchers convert and things are going well in that area. I turned 50 this year, got on the scale and went "Crud!" (or words to that effect!) . So I tried the one program I hadn't tried and have lost about 15 pounds so far.

I have been stitching away and knitting now to. I will post pictures and try to be better about updating here.

By for now!

Finally, I post Something!

I can't believe I haven't posted since June 1. Egad! I think it has been just too hot and I am just not motivated. But I have a been busy. I have my craft room about half done. I never knew I had so much STUFF. I am not sure where it is all going to go. lol

I have a couple of finishes this month. Finally finished the french knot bunny tail on Miss Fiona Rose Garden by By the Bay.
I have worked on a couple of Halloween projects and finish a special one by La D Da:

I have a couple more in progress that I need to finish but I little at a time...

I recentlly I took up yet another hobby. Knitting. I am really enjoying this and, of course, I want to make the most complex projects. lol. But I have finished a simple knit scarf and neckwarmer. I know , I know, its hot in Texas but it's the process of learning a new craft.
I make it a goal this month to post more often, cross my heart!

June goals and May revisited

Wow, June is here. That means its summer. How did that happen? I got a number of things done in May, stitchy and non-stitchy so I feel like it was a good month. I was a little ambitious in setting my stitching goals so I plan on being a little more conservative this time - snicker!

For stitching this month I am going to finish a couple of works in progress, get some work done on a Bap or two and get some of my pieces framed. I also volunteered to help get an EGA chapter started in my area, so if anyone has had experience with, your thoughts are most welcome. I also need to get my crafting room set up. Lots to do!!
